Teaching and learning resources for the South African curriculum
Letterland is a unique, phonics-based approach to teaching reading, writing and spelling for 3-8 year olds. The Letterland characters, who live in an imaginary place called Letterland, transform plain black letter shapes into child-friendly pictograms.
Simple stories about the Letterland characters explain the full range of dry phonics facts so that children are motivated to listen, to think and to learn. These stories explain letter sounds and shapes, allowing children to progress quickly to word building, reading and writing.
Whether you're a teacher in preschool, primary school, or a parent wanting to give your child a headstart - there's something for you and your learners in our range of over 100 great phonics titles.
Letterland is a fantastic resource to use. I teach grade R learners. For most of them, English is their second or third language. I love the way Letterland teaches the basics of the English language and makes it fun. I would advise any teacher or parent to use Letterland products to help reinforce English as a language.
I have Living ABC and stories and use it everyday with my interactive board. My kids at school have really benefited from using this programme.

A fun way to develop your child's eye for detail. Download the scenes and spot the eight differences between the two images that feature all the Letterlanders.
Featuring 7 letters in alphabetical order, this 7 page download allows your child to practice forming all the letter shapes correctly. Bright illustrations help them to link the letter shapes to the alphabet sound. This is a great time to be saying the letter's sound together every time your child writes it.
